Energy Bite 270 – Celebrate Life in 2019

“O Lord, Keep me alive
as long as I’m alive.”

– Old Scottish Prayer

Of course you’ve already been to the gym this New Year’s morning and you will keep going for the rest of your life. Or maybe someone read last week’s article and gave you some exercise bands — and you used them. Did you go for a walk instead? And of course you ate a healthy breakfast and lunch and plan a healthy dinner of less meat, more veggies and little or no sugary dessert. You plan to keep that up too, don’t you?

If you’ve been reading this blog for any length of time, you already expect to come to plateaus and various levels of disappointment and discouragement over the next couple of months as you mold your self-image into that of a healthy, vigorous senior, filled with energy and looking for new worlds to conquer. You’ve learned that plateaus and discouragement are part of the process and if you’re persistent, you’ll move through those plateaus and discouragements quickly.

So what are you going to do to put all than new found energy into action? What kinds of new adventures will you search out?

Sounds exciting. You may not go exploring the Nile or bungee jumping into the New River Gorge in West Virginia any time soon. But you might try some more tame explorations like short walks on a new pathway, or even trying out new restaurants; Anything new that you haven’t experienced before.

Or maybe you have a lifelong dream that you never pursued. Is this the year to do it? Why not? In a short time you are going to be filled with so much energy that you’ll be begging for new places to release it.

It’s my goal and the goal of The Come Alive Project to help you on your way to experiencing life in a new and exciting way, and to inspire you seek and find the health, fitness and personal energy to be able to do the things you want to do. . . . to want to say “yes” to more things, to say “yes to life”. My goal is to have a Positive and Energizing Impact on Others. To help active seniors discover the Fountain of Youth inside, and turn on the Flow of Life.

“You are alive, you are whole, and you are being healed
and renewed in a constant rhapsody of life. Celebrate yourself.
Say yes to life, to health, to renewal.
– Eric Butterworth, Celebrate Yourself

For my part, I’ll be doing a lot more workshops, talks, classes, and even some “micro-events”. My goal is “inspire action”and provide some practical tools and ideas. Your part is to do what it takes to build your energy and to experience life, not as an aging man or woman, but as a high energy, active senior.

So if you are new to the gym or physical movement and are actively pursuing health and fitness for an energy filled life, don’t let a plateau or temporary setback slow you down or stop you. Keep moving through the plateau and you’ll never look back.  If you’re already into health and fitness, then keep up the good work, maybe even do a little more of it.

I’ll do my part. I’ll provide tools and inspiration. You provide the action and the motivation (”All motivation is self-motivation” —  Bruce Lee & others).

Let’s make 2019 and beyond our most energy filled years ever.

Thank you for reading.
